Leaman Container, Inc., headquartered in Fort Worth is currently hiring Production Assistants to fit in with an established, tenured, successful team.  We manufacture corrugated boxes, and supply packaging and shipping products to our customers.  Our production floor is fast-paced and offers many opportunities to learn new skills.

First and second shift positions available.  Our first shift operates Monday to Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.  The second shift is Monday to Thursday 2:45 pm – 1:15 am and is paid a $0.50/hour shift differential.  Overtime does occur and may be mandatory depending on backlog conditions.

Wages and Benefits

  • Beginning wage – $14.50/hour
  • Bonus after 90 days employment with satisfactory attendance – $500.00
  • Production bonus paid quarterly based on efficiency and waste
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance available after 60 days
  • 401K eligible enrollment at 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Position requires assisting all jobs on the plant floor
  • Must adhere to all safety rules
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Desire to learn new tasks and advance within the company
  • Work with our team to increase productivity and decrease waste and downtime
  • Be punctual and present during scheduled work times
  • Additional tasks may be assigned

Qualitifications

  • 18+ years old with either a High School diploma or GED
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass drug screen
  • Stable work history with at least 1 year of plant manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read a tape measure and utilize basic math and computer skills
  • Must interpret written, verbal, or electronic instructions and respond with strong verbal or written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work as needed (overtime and/or Saturdays)
  • Possess a sense of urgency to reduce machine downtime
  • Physical demands:
    • Required to stand, walk, talk, and hear
    • Use of hand to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
    • Some stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling can occur
    • Ability to perform repetitive dexterity movements
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Non-climate-controlled work area with occasional wet and/or humid conditions
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
  • Noise level is normally loud

Leaman Container, Inc. is seeking full-time qualified machine operator to fit in with an established, tenured, successful Fort Worth team. We specialize in corrugated boxes, packaging and shipping products.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment which includes: performing accurate and efficient set-ups, checking for quality of manufactured boxes and basic troubleshooting of the machines
  • Follow assigned job duties and complete all work orders as required by productions needs
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed
  • Must be motivated to reach production goals
  • Assist other team members/operators
  • Cross train on other machines
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong mechanical ability is a must
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to perform basic math and read a tape measure
  • Pre-employment drug screen is required
  • Employees at times are required to work overtime and weekends
  • Physical Demands
    • Must be able to lift and move more than 50 pounds.
    • Stand, walk, use hands/finger
    • Close, distance and color vision
    • Ability to work in non-climate controlled warehouse
  • Education and Work Experience Required
  • Corrugated manufacturing experience beneficial
  • Machine operator knowledge helpful
  • High School Diploma or GED

Compensation

  • This position is an hourly position commensurate on experience and qualifications.
